This is a big, loud and utterly stupid movie, which isn't always a bad thing but here is was. The direction was really sloppy as was the camera work. The characters were pretty bland with John C. Reilly being the stand out. John Goodman was completely wasted in his role and Samuel L. Jackson, dear god am I sick of seeing him in movies. The journalist character was almost as bad as Samuel L. Jackson's, I had a hard time deciding which one I disliked most. There are also a lot of plot holes and characters making stupid decisions. Both the 2005 and 1933 versions of King Kong were much much better.
