    Director: “No”

  • Knives Out

    Knives Out

I was blown away by this film, easily the most enjoyable viewing experience I’ve had in a long time. The crafting of the story is mind blowing, and I loved virtually every twist and turn in its fullest extent.

Cinematography was near perfect, and the editing flowed absolutely seamlessly. The music was also unobtrusive but highly effective.

The cast was the icing on the cake, everyone nailing their roles. Daniel Craig is an incredible man and Chris Evans was also…

  • Jojo Rabbit

    Jojo Rabbit

I loved this. It taking an obviously serious topic and carefully constructing a comedy around it worked virtually perfectly, resulting in a surprisingly ‘fun’ film.

The cinematography worked in tandem with the light hearted comedic feel, as did the colour grading and certain actors, which effectively added to the mood and tone. The jumps between fun and serious were also seamless and very well thought out.

The acting in general was very good, namely Jojo and Elsa, although I thought…

  • It Chapter Two

    It Chapter Two

After watching this, I’m still of the opinion that the book is a hundred times better in regards to actually experiencing the story (since the films strip away all psychological aspects of the story, what made it SO effective), and therefore I urge EVERYONE to read the book as well as watching the movie (it’s a long task but an incredible one).

Having said that, I loved this film, and it’s virtually as good a film adaptation of the story…

  • Secret Obsession

    Secret Obsession

Worst film I’ve seen in a LONG time. Riddled with cliches, atrocious acting and stupid plot holes. I wanted this film to end 20 minutes in, knew what was going to happen, and wished I’d spent my time doing something more worthwhile, like staring at a wall for 90 minutes. Adequate cinematography was the only okay aspect, but that matters zero when everything else is tripe.

    Toy Story 4

Unbelievable animation; some stunning shot composition made this very engaging and fun to watch. There was a lot of great writing and the voice acting suited virtually all characters. I found the overall story a little underwhelming, and I felt a couple of the characters were a bit cliche/stale, but overall it was very enjoyable.

  • Yesterday

I really liked this movie and how it didn’t care one bit about how over the top it was. It meant all the actors were evidently having a blast and this rubs off on the audience.

Loved the renditions of the songs; the film didn’t ruin them unlike others I’ve seen, Himesh Patel’s singing being the main reason why.

The story was pretty good; even though it was riddled with cliches and bizarre moments, the ‘I don’t care how stupid this is’ approach to it made it feel new and enjoyable.

Would definitely recommend this for a happier, less serious experience than a typical film.

  • Parasite

A stunning experience, was captivated and enthralled from the beginning. The acting was flawless and the cinematography beautifully appropriate in every way. The story was touching, and you can tell everyone on set gave it their all and thoroughly enjoyed doing it.

Without a doubt one of the best films I’ve ever seen, and I’m looking forward to watching many more of this director’s films and Korean films in general.

  • The Handmaiden

    The Handmaiden

Unbelievable filmmaking in virtually every aspect. Enthralling, unique, daring and beautiful, and the storytelling is captivating. I was very much entertained for the whole 150 mins, and would highly recommend.

  • The Perfection

    The Perfection

Completely messed up in several ways, but this drove the film and made the plot and characters so much more effective. Loved the unique storyline and editing techniques, and the acting was top notch. 90 min length was perfect. Would definitely recommend for people who love thrilling horrors.
