Blockers is consistently hilarious thanks to a strong ensemble and really smart writing. Often ridiculous, plenty raunchy but genuinely funny.
After decades of male driven teen sex comedies, it’s crazy that this is one of the only female driven entries in the genre. Still, BLOCKERS is more than simply “The Female Superbad.” It’s really charming, and has plenty to say about both growing up and watching your kids grow up. The film somehow manages to balance the perspectives of teens and parents so well, with a surprising amount of empathy for both.
Excellent, very surprising film.
