Truly gorgeous animation, a wonderfully percussive score, and delightfully quirky. Wes Anderson’s unique style is perfectly suited to stop-motion. The story is cute, with charming characters and a satisfying tale.
Anderson’s films aren’t always up my alley. In live action, it’s often just a bit too quirky for me. When animated though, it’s a great fit. Interesting shot composition, production design, and visuals.
Great film, but don’t expect your kids to like it.
