Daniel Howat’s review published on Letterboxd :
Look, I love ridiculous destruction and The Rock as much as the next guy. And Rampage has plenty of both. But it’s all a little too ridiculous here. There’s something mesmerizing about a giant gorilla and wolf terrorize a city, but the story and characters are too bland and forgettable to make it work.
I can accept a story that’s nonsense as long as it’s interesting or memorable. Rampage is none of those things. This is a movie I won’t even remember in a month.
And for the record, I enjoyed Peyton and Johnson’s last movie, San Andreas, a good amount. So I’m no action movie snob. Rampage just didn’t cut it for me.
