All is not well in the Palmer household. No, not those Palmers, but they very well could be related. I'm almost sure they are, as Laura Palmer and Alice Palmer's fates are seemingly linked - double lives and "all that" (avoiding spoilers here). However, a key difference is that Twin Peaks is mostly concerned with living in the past, while its Australian cousin, Lake Mungo, is concerned with moving on. That's perhaps the most haunting aspect of this absolute chiller - Alice Palmer's family moves on, thinking that they have uncovered all there is to their daughter's tragic death, but, in reality, they leave her behind.
