RIP Olivia Newton-John.
She was hot in this film. At the top of her game.
Classy, delightful, charming film. The Hollywood subplot with Miss Daigliesh and Guy Baxter is a hoot. Everything I've come to expect from Downton Abbey. If they make another film, I wouldn't mind. If it ends here, they've had a terrific run.
I needed to watch something to cheer me up after a hard day. This is such a good, amusing movie. Casting Seth Rogen to voice a pot-smoking alien was genius. I also consider this an unofficial fourth movie of the Cornetto Trilogy due to the presence of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Lorenzo Zoil is one of the best character names this side of Warren Peace. I mean, this cast! Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig, Joe Lo Truglio, Blythe Danner, Jason Bateman, Sigourney Weaver?!
Jane's demeanor is not one of a high school cheerleader. Maybe she got on the squad because she's Angela's friend?
Yeah, the Kevin Spacey baggage hangs over this film now, and threatens to sink it.
But I still love it. I still have fond memories of it from watching it in college. It's a beautiful film to look at (Conrad Hall deserved that Best Cinematography Oscar), and I love the score by Thomas Newman.
Sidenote: Remember using "Star 69" on a phone? Before the existence of caller ID?
