  • Magnolia

Magnolia is bloated, a bit pretentious and oddly structured. It is also raw and confident in the story it sets out to tell. The film weaves together the stories of multiple people and their lives to explore grief, pain and ultimately forgiveness. Although, the ways it chooses to probe these themes are often times messy, it is the questions of coincidence and possible mysticism that Anderson throws out into the world that keeps me thinking about the movie long after the credits roll.

    Call Me by Your Name

Impossibly sensual with equal parts melancholy and compassion.
