Jamie Huggett’s review published on Letterboxd:
I've seen the full colour version of this before, which I loved, but this was my first viewing of the Black & White Director's Cut version.
I think I loved this version even more. The lack of colour really adds something to the experience. It makes you focus less on the quality of the special effects, and more on the characters and hope they cope with the situation they have found themselves in.
I also still love the bleak, depressing ending. I'm so glad they didn't bottle it and go with the typical Hollywood happy ending.
