Enter the Void

Enter the Void ★★★½

Enter the Void is my first Gasper Noé film, so I came into it completely blind. 20 minutes in, and already I was entranced by the radical colors, striking POV cinematography, and the grimy city of Tokyo. With each passing scene Enter the Void becomes a surreal experience worth all its praise. The end credits roll and I'm left pondering my whole existence. Gasper Noé's style of filmmaking is vivid, loud, and flashy. However, Gasper's style consistently gets in the way of the story, some major plot points are all interrupted by unnecessary color and cameras flying through buildings at the speed of sound.
In the end, Enter the Void is an exciting film that strays deep into the realm of death and meaning. I would not watch this again but would highly recommend it.
