    Bill Condon's Gods and Monsters acts as both a conventional Hollywood biopic on James Whale and as a magnifying glass on the homosexual scene within Tinseltown's Golden Age.

    But while homosexuality has been reserved for innuendo throughout the majority of motion picture history, Condon's film places it right in front of you, warts and all. Even at an advanced age, Whale is a hopeless sexual admirer of the same sex, particularly those about a third his age.

    Other reviews are correct in saying that this movie is a wavelength you are either totally on or totally off. Unfortunately, I was totally off as I wouldn't be able to tolerate these characters in a brief SNL sketch.

    All power and respect to Mumolo and Wiig for creating something this silly and getting people to like it. Next time, I won't even contemplate if I should ride their wave.

    Memoria is a work for the cinephiles that need an escape from the noise of the modern world. It's wildly beautiful and imaginative, all while challenging your patience and world viewpoints.
