Everything that makes Italian horror so great is in this movie: the surreal plot, funny dubbing, and awesome practical effects. The first half moves slowly with not much happening besides setting up lore, but the second half delivers! Eye gore galore!
Great casting in this film like Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, and Telly Savalas. The plot is a typical mystery on a train trope, yet the cast does a fantastic job at captivating the audience with their performances. Both Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing play off each other well with witting quips and Telly Savalas dominates the screen as the grandiose cossack commander. Plenty of eye torture scenes in this one too!
