This film tests your patience with about an hour of the stuff BBC One shows as the continuity announcer introduces the next programme, but then takes a shift that’s earned.

Slow and psychological, and pretty gross towards the end. Despite the opening sequence, it's not a found-footage film. I wasn't gripped, but for the kind of film that's on a second-tier video-on-demand service, it's an OK watch.

A tense, high-stakes retell img of a story the essence of which were all familiar with, told without flash or noise.

The acting was great and for the most part felt natural; Keaton and Schreiber were understated, the pace was spot on and the story whipped along very well.

It didn't make me angry; more weary, which I think is a reading you can take from this as you follow some of the older, more jaded journalists.

I don't know if there's that much to commend the film for those that aren't aware of Kumail and Emily as internet or TV personalities, and it probably suffered from having used up all of the funny moments in trailers. It wasn't funny or emotional enough to quite stand on its own and let it float for an unfamiliar audience, but it was a sweet love story,  and Nanjiani does put in a pretty brilliant performance.
