Justin Turner’s review published on Letterboxd:
Since I was on a seven hour flight to London and I cannot sleep on planes, I was able to catch up on a few smaller released films that I missed in theaters.
Little Woods follows similar story tropes involving the act of drug dealing to do what is necessary for their family to survive. It was refreshing to see Tessa Thompson and Lily James play unconventional roles. They both have great chemistry together as two sisters, despite not having a ton of screen time together. James Badge Dale is good as always. I would have loved to see more from Luke Kirby’s character, but his subplot is sort of unresolved.
The biggest issue I had with the film was the pacing. For a film that is under two hours, it felt double its runtime. The film could have been trimmed at least twenty minutes or so in the second act.
