Took my niece and nephew to see this film for their first cinema experience and they loved every minute of it so this film will now ways have a special place in my heart.

  • Persuasion

Loses all it's stars for fundamentally not understanding the source material and characters and for causing the Sarah Snook & Joel Fry's Persuasion (which I was really looking forward to) to get cancelled. Gets a star for having Henry Golding in period dress.

I don't think I have anything to add to the conversation so here is my 5 yr old niece's thoughts on the film:

•"Roger Thornhill that's really not a pretty name".

•"The woman is so beautiful, oh my goodness" (you say oh my goodness when something is really a lot).

•"He's a good sneaker, wow. He's going to be in trouble if he keeps sneaking".

•And there was also a 3 minute song on how the man and woman are going to be so in love soon (she called it).

Shame about the first half because the second half was a lot more fun. It still suffers from poor pacing and junky writing, which is a shame because the potential is there.

This film was very cute, quirky, sweet and tender. A little uneven at times but overall a little gem of a movie.

Went to see this with my dad and he enjoyed every second. Did not disappoint. He'll be listening to Elvis songs for the rest of the month.

Beautifully crafted movie, but the story is average bringing the whole endeavour down a little.

Went in not knowing anything about it and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Distressing in parts but also moving in other parts.

My mum finally forced me to watch this movie and it turns out I have misunderstood every cultural reference to it in media and I'm not quite sure how I feel now. Also why is everyone so sweaty????? I just want to jump in to the screen with a towel and wipe everyone's faces.

What I appreciate about this sequel is that you can watch it and understand the relationships and history without having seem the original.

I saw this when I was very young and I was so convinced Julian McMahon played the soap actor character but now I'm looking at the credits and I don't see his name and I'm questioning everything. Is my whole life a lie?
