For being my favorite movie ever, I don’t rewatch this one a whole lot. I haven’t even logged it at all in my whole time being here on letterboxd (though I have a sneaking suspicion there’s a ghibli fest appearance in 2017 and a rabbit stream sometime in 2018 I forgot to log).
I think that helps it retain some of the magic for me. It makes rediscovering it so, so rewarding. Every new watch feels like it’s the first time. This is probably Miyazaki’s coolest world and one of the most interesting settings any film has ever been set in. I was enraptured once again from the first scene on till the end. I love movies
