Clair’s review published on Letterboxd:
I feel like rewatching this even though I just saw it. This is how Andrea Arnold sees America, and I hated and loved it. There's a lot to unpack here and I want to watch the film again before I comment on the film as a whole. The treatment of women is... interesting? Krystal is incredibly manipulative. Is it wrong to call her a pimp? It seemed to me that Star is always an outsider, even when she's with Jake. Her interactions with others don't last long and she is ultimately alone.
Two things I can say for certain are that I loved the cinematography and the ending. This film is undeniably beautiful & the final scene gave me chills.
