Letterboxd — Your life in film

I didn't really care for the book, not sure why I expected the film to be any better. The CGI birds (and turtles?) were really disturbing. And tell me, how is it that ALL the Marsh Girls church donation clothes happen to be exactly the right size?
Daisy and the shirtless men made it worthwhile, but just barley.

Disappointing. Did I chuckle? Yes, but mostly just at the bits I already found funny in the trailer. I never once worried for the children because Thor certainly didn't. There was a shocking lack of genuine emotion through the entire film. If it was all supposed to be silly fun, why add cancer and kidnapping?

I think I upset people with my laughter, but Zombie Doctor Strange was so damn extra.

Straight people are so fucked up.

What a mess. It was difficult to enjoy, even though the performances were pretty solid, it just didn't go anywhere.

I guess I understand the Make-Up nomination. Leslie Jones was hilarious and by far my favorite part of the movie.

More than a little melodramatic and filled with terrible accents.

Underwhelming and a little bland between moments of violence.

This should not be in any conversations, let alone an Oscar one.

The camera spent too much time focusing on inanimate objects while we listening to muffled conversation in the next room. At one point, Beanie and Amy whispered an entire conversation while they sat in the dark (and not the fake movie kind of people sitting in the dark, literal dark. As in, unable to see their faces.) 🙄

Further proof that the world of the heterosexual is a sick and twisted life.

There is a lot of very odd transference happening around Affleck's hair. That is what people decide is intolerable about this film?
