Letterboxd — Your life in film

I was with this until the last 20 minutes, then it fell apart.

Um, I watched this at the theatre and just as it was about to start a family walked in and I ended up sitting next to a 9 year old girl during the vast majority of the film. It was unsettling to say the least. I don't know what to say about the film... I kinda wanna stay in that house and take that walk, but I'd pass on the gore and metaphor.

I kept wanting this to be better than it was...

Yuck, yuck, yucky.

I was most definitely disappointed by this film. Clearly there was a reason the release continued to be pushed out

The visual effects are certainly Oscar worthy. But the rest of the film? Meh.

Now if they would FINALLY release Cyrano I can have all the Oscar nominated films checked off my list...

Why was Christina Ricci only in this movie for  45 seconds? What a terrible tease.

So much beige...
The vignettes just got overly repetitive and despite the short run time it did feel endless.

Tom Skerritt's excellent work in this film was diminished a little by the films general production value.

Is the movie good?
Not particularly.
Do I need to make an appointment with my therapist to discuss why I was so turned on watching George MacKay being led around on a leash and crawling on his hands and knees half naked? Probably.

Brutal.

Kiawentiio was lovely in a film that otherwise struggles to be authentic.
