  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Perks is one of my favorite books, hands down. And this film is such a wonderful companion for the story. The book is a very intimate peek at the thoughts that Charlie keeps for himself. They are private moments of reflection. And the film is all the wonderful mess of high school in 1991 that was happening around him. Having been 15 in 1991 myself, I can tell you that was exactly what the world was like. I just love, LOVE, this movie.

  • The Social Dilemma

    The Social Dilemma

This is five stars for the importance this film carries for the health and safety of the world.
Young people are literally dying at an exponential rate that should be terrifying.

Grateful for every moment of this film.

    Reichardt is a cinematic genius.

  • Palm Springs

    Palm Springs

Wow! This movie was so much fun. It’s the kind of movie I am really glad I went into with ZERO expectations and absolutely no knowledge of the plot.
I just gave you expectations. Sorry about that.
I’m going to watch it again, immediately. Before I go to sleep, just to be safe.

  • Watchmen

    Damn, this was good.

  • Jeremiah Johnson

I have very fond memories of watching this with my Dad.

  • The Spirit of the Beehive

    The Spirit of the Beehive

Wide-eyed Cinematic Magic. It hooked me at around the same age and has never let go.

  • Being There

    Being There

A gentle satire, earnest yet preposterous. I had a very clear sense memory of how the hum and pulse of an old television would travel to the tips of your fingers as you clicked through the channels. I was transfixed by the joy of anticipating what slice of 70s television might appear next. There was something very soothing about the seriousness Chance gave the experience of watching television. The amazement he cultivated around him was so electric the the world…

  • Eraserhead

    Terrifying. Disgusting. Gorgeous.
