This story was handled with such tactless haziness. Took everything so rich and beautiful about the book and washed it out.

Metropolis 1927
Saw this at the Brunswick Green with a live improvised jazz score. So so cool. Cannot believe this was made in 1927. The sets are still unbelievable, as well as the dedication to completely original aesthetics and storytelling, perhaps the very first sci fi?
