Supporting a young artist by watching his first short film and leaving a review is scientifically proven to be more effective at combatting the coronavirus than hydroxychloroquine!
Cheats in the way that most American coming of age dramas do: by tapping into my suburb-induced family anxieties. I’m never not gonna love or be affected by one of these. Hailee Steinfeld gives such a powerhouse performance, Kyra Sedgwick is awesome, and Hayden Szeto looks so 30.
Experimental films have never been my strong suit… but, I appreciate originality and the gall to try something. Carax absolutely tries many, many things.
I’ll start with the positive:
- I loved the editing! The choices were cuckoo and I had a great time fawning over the images they were creating.
- Adam Driver!
- Marion Cotillard!
- Adam Driver singing while he goes down on Marion Cotillard!
And now the negative:
- Most of the lyrics are aggressively made up…
i was having a conversation with my friend the other day about how she couldn’t believe that middle school boys could get so horny that they HAVE to masturbate in school bathrooms during class.
i want to show her this short film about little boys being so collectively horny that they inadvertently will the death of their competition into existence with their collective horniness.
