Normally I’m a sucker for the Vince Vaughn motormouth bit, but it wore thin pretty quickly for me this time. I know I rented this movie back in the day, but I had no memory of anything that happens. The Death and Life of Bobby Z 2007
To short to be truly tedious, but also kind of amusing. The movie goes for a quippy action-comedy balance that it's never able to calibrate. The movie is at its best in the fight scenes. The plot probably needed more room to breathe to really sell it.

This movie oozes melancholy and wisdom in equal measures. I'm not sure what I expected going into to this, but I was really taken by this movie's clear-eyed view of relationships (romantic and non) and the way its characters are allowed to wrestle with their emotions.
