Alex Garland after reading the "Southern Reach" trilogy: "I like this location and the general idea... but I'm doing my own plot."
Hey, I don't mind, this is a prime example of how you can change A LOT when adapting the source material, and still end up with a really good film that captures the atmosphere and the concept. It's a good weekend for sci-fi horror!
I'm sorry for everyone who's not getting this on the big screen and has to settle for a Netflix experience because the studio decided this is not mainstream friendly. Though seeing it on a small screen won't take away from how good the movie is, I sure am glad I got to see/hear it in a theatre.
