    Friday the 13th Part X: To Hell and Back

    While not as grating as the bloated mess that is Friday the 13th: Vengeance, this is just missing something.

    I'll always give fan films, particularly old SOV fan films a shot because there's always something charming about a bunch of friends getting together to make something. I was sold on the premise of this and I was more than willing to give it a fair shake.

    I wish there was more imagination here. Why make a really bland 90 minute…

    The Fanatic

    Travolta is off his chops, giving a mix between Battlefield Earth and Simple Jack.

    Devon Sawa is giving a great performance which somehow makes it even more depressing (he is so underrated).

    They fail to bring any weight to a bomb threat of a script that's about as coherent as a shootout in a kindergarten. I don't know what Durst's point was, but I think he just outed himself as that guy at celebrity parties that everyone hates.

    Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

    It's the most Tarantino-ey yet least Tarantino-ey film ever made.

    It's slow, it's mad unfocused and a bit uneven tonally; but it's got shitloads of heart and I respect it for that.

    Also, it was a real breath of fresh air to watch Sharon Tate in a fictionalised recounting of her life that didn't reek of some two-bit talentless shitfuck horror hack trying desperately to capitalise on the anniversary of her tragic murder.

    It Chapter Two

    There are some great individual moments in this movie.

    That said, overall;
    • There isn't a single effective scare
    • The plot is scattered and repetitive
    • There is no point to any of this besides really sucking off that first movie

    This movie has no business being two hours long, let alone three.
