The Whale 2022
Felt like sitting through a terrible sophomore play, so when it turned out to be based on one I wanted to throw my chair through the screen.
Says way too much, shows little and unconvincingly so.
Obviously, actors love melodrama; Doing an angry. Doing a sad. Doing an angry sad. It’s someone’s actual job to restrain that - direct! You keep them from following things like stiff clichéd stage directions and find ways to make characters more than stereotypical cutouts.…

The Matrix Resurrections 2021
Sadly the biggest mess I've seen in recent memory. A film so howlingly bad on every possible level to render it unforgivable, especially at this length.
The flashbacks to the first feature feel particularly cruel, reminding me how time marches on relentlessly and how much we’ve lost of ourselves over the past 20 years.
