There's a lot to get out of Dune in terms of sheer content and ambition, so one is guaranteed to appreciate the effort placed in its technical qualities and the story it tries to tell. Unfortunately, Dune does suffer from having to set up a second story which affects its characters by extension. It's difficult to discern any one character's arc due the film's almost incomplete story and some dialogue may be incoherent. Regardless of its flaws, Dune is still very much worth the watch, even if it feels like it would've been more appropriate as a miniseries.
Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen shines in what is arguably the most creative output from the MCU in its entire existence. Thanks to Sam Raimi's (thankfully very intact) unique style, this sequel is one that immediately stands apart from blockbusters with its close relation to horror, staggering visuals and surprisingly intimate story.
