ryan’s review published on Letterboxd:
tragedy about a trio of characters cursed by light (moonlight, spotlights) or the absence of light (henry's supposed "dark abyss"). consequently, carax's lighting is emotive and full of motion. the way the hospital room floods with shadow after annette's birth is both foreboding and sad: a perfect pivotal moment in an immaculately structured movie. adam driver gives about as good a performance as anyone has in these last few years. and baby annette? i would die for her.
