Band Aid ★★★½

If not for a few contrivances and over-cooked gags, BAND AID could of ended up as one of my favorite films of the year so far. As is, it's still a surprisingly grounded dramedy that thrives with a pulsating heart when the film takes itself seriously. And there are a lot of well earned laughs along the way too.

About the mid-way point, there's a scene where Zoe Lister-Jone's Anna is cathardically opening up for the first time about a recent tragedy and how she feels like a failure, and it's **easily** a contender for Best Scene of the Year for me. Devastating. Adam Pally is also great it making that scene resonate.
