InSession Film - JD Duran’s review published on Letterboxd:
One of the most comprehensive overviews of any war doc I've seen. It covers a lot of ground and does so in compelling fashion. It also gets points for being aware that it lacks emotional depth, and so it sprinkles in (somewhat randomly) these little human moments from survivors of the war that are surprisingly affecting despite just being dropped in unexpectedly. It's unconventional but packs a punch when you hear what they have to say.
Also - in an indirect way this film highlights how the photographers are the unsung heroes of WWII. There is some great (but obviously horrid) footage here that is strikingly detailed.
