InSession Film - JD Duran’s review published on Letterboxd :
PROMETHEUS is a visually interesting film, and.....that's about it for me. Fundamentally, the idea of seeking God and not finding the answers you want is a compelling idea, but in execution that idea in this film is - for the lack of a better word - absurd.
The mythology building in this film is supremely convoluted and baffling. The first act is a direct tie-in to ALIEN, but the rest of the film almost feels like it comes from a different franchise altogether.
Additionally, the supporting characters aren't interesting in any way and have no redeeming qualities. The exception to that is Michael Fassbender's David. And that leads me to my next point. Whose film is this? Is it Elizabeth's? Vickers'? David's? Peter's? The narrative is so disjointed and doesn't render any central conflict with a clear protagonist.
