Bloody fun. Another low budget horror flick from Down Under that is full of dedication, inspiration and creativity. It looks a little cheap here and there, but Roache-Turner manages to mask most of it with wild camera moves and dynamic editing, giving his movie loads of energy. Lots of pounding, chopping and shooting for gorehounds, a little twisted humor that hits the funny bone and although the story is pretty basic, it does offer some fresh elements to the subgenre. Maybe not the lab rat, I guess that's a modern day Re-Animator (and a hilarious one at that), but the gas thing, that's quite inventive. Just as Brooke's capabilities. Can't remember seeing that before. So yeah, Wyrmwood; one hell of a road trip!
