I had to catch the screening of this. Always thought this to be one of John Carpenter's more underrated films. Absolutely love the on-location shots of California's beautiful coasts. The lighthouse radio station has always been one of the coolest things I have ever seen and of course it's just visually stunning all around. I initially did not like this movie, but this has been I think my 5th viewing, and with every rewatch I notice something else and enjoy it all the more. For starters, all of the old Hollywood call backs are a cheap morsel of bait for myself. Nice little references that hint at the entirety being a spawn of its predecessors.
