A disappointing and shallow mess of a film where Tom Hanks the fucking sideshow clown ruins every scene he appears in... Drawing you out of the experience every second he is on screen. I can't stress enough how much of a cancer he is on this film. Baz Luhrmann can't escape blame either. It is also horribly told for the most part and sloppily edited, Elvis almost feels second fiddle at times. I will say I enjoyed the second half much more than the first.
The biggest positive is Austin Butler as Elvis. He is superb and almost saves the experience. He should be proud.
