This was wonderful, especially for an oppressive snow storm day like today. I think there are some easy choices in emotional manipulation in the third act that sort of cheapen it, but those choices are amongst many other bold and creative ones. Annette Bening is ridiculously good in this; I was totally riveted with her character. Elvis Costello's original song is absurdly beautiful and should have been placed within the actual movie instead of just the credits. The final shot high-key blew my mind. I hope more people see this. It's really good.
I had to leave half way through to make another screening because they started this one way late but Gaga performed beforehand and I was in hysterics about it and then there was a scene in the movie where she just casually frees the nips in the middle of a business meeting and I'm giving this movie five starts because what I saw was shockingly amazing and I will update my rating when I see the rest
Also she goes on a stoned monologue about Madonna and I don't understand how cinema can be better
