Film #7 of Hellbound: December Movie Challenge 2
I'd never seen Ferris Beuller's Day off even though everyone around me had been telling me to see it. I saw that my art house theater was doing a screening of it, so I went and saw it for my first time. I'm glad I went. I can't say it's one of my favorite movies of all time, but it's undoubtedly extremely fun. The characters drive this movie. The school faculty are especially hilarious since a lot of them remind me of some teachers I already know. The writing is pretty spot-on, and though it can get cheesy at times, it's still well done. There's not much in terms of story, but the larger than life tone helps keep the movie fresh and exciting. It's a fun film that doesn't require a lot of thought, and a great film to see in the theater for the first time.
