In a time where we're saturated with the onslaught of comic book films that seem to rehash the same ideas over and over, regurgitating the same stories in a different package, The Batman breathes new life into this genre. - Valkyrie is just a nothing character in this. She’s completely wasted, and I understand that there was a story surrounding her sexuality that Thompson thought should be cut so her character wasn’t just reduced to her sexuality, but give her another story. To me I feel like they could’ve leaned on how hard she was finding being King. When they’re trying to calm the people after the children are kidnapped, it’s Thor that calms them not…
So, the latest addition to the MCU has just dropped and with it comes many conflicted feelings once again. The film is plastered from start to finish with Taika-isms, it's stuffed full of great comedy and absurd moments and while that's great it sadly lessens the heart and emotion that this film is desperately trying to convey to its audience.
