jackflowers’s review published on Letterboxd:
lanthimos seems to want to investigate society’s views on love, the lobster is the societal aspect of love, the killing of a sacred deer is the familial politics of love, and the favourite is the sexual politics of love. in all of these views we see tragedy that occurs when we decide to live a lie, because a relationship built on lies only creates chaos and self destruction. emma stone gives a performance that’s earth shatteringly brilliant. lanthimos, you genius!
