It's his most interesting film, with some strikingly original image-making. But It didn't give me the intense blockbuster thrills it was going for. Maybe on the next watch.

The Magnificent Ambersons 1942
All the decoration of a great film with the storytelling of a crappy costume drama. The performances are lousy and many a time you think Welles might've been too lazy to venture past a single take, however Tim Holt is able to stand out with his embarrassingly stiff, one-note performance where he appears to have a stick up his ass. There's not a single great scene and worse, in a film full of talking I can't recall many lines of dialogue worth listening to.

The Lad Goodbye 2022
A shoe-string cinephilic stoner comedy (see how many nods, riffs and references you catch) made by a few good lads on letterboxd: Victor, Kirk, and Nolan.
NOTE: the film is a sequel to a short film made previously by the lads, Hi, Lad! (inspired by the De Palma/De Niro film Hi, Mom!). You can watch that here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiDK3CfdJqc
