jackmeyer’s review published on Letterboxd:
Third time watching, it just gets better every time. I now rank it much higher in Scorsese’s filmography, probably above Goodfellas, and near Taxi Driver/Raging Bull levels. I get why some people wouldn’t like it much, but it’s hardly a boring watch if you get into it, and it is one of the most emotionally moving Scorsese films I’ve watched. This is a more mature, refined Scorsese, and it is this different perspective which makes this film unique. If you’ve seen it, see it again, and if you haven’t, watch it twice.
