funnest movie of the year by far. johnson’s control over the detail of his script and his direction is inspiring. every single cast member is given their chance to shine. and the best part... it’s original.
i usually find the constant references to the here and now in the dialogue tedious and lazy. but johnson uses it in such a unique way to bridge the old world to the new one via language, that it only elevates the material.
