A sprawling, emotional, and deeply poetic epic about brotherhood, loyalty, betrayal, and above all else, nostalgia. The whole thing is almost wrapped in this golden cloth of dreamlike nostalgia but at the same time, never dishonest.
These are not the likable gangsters found in some of the film’s contemporaries, these guys are ruthless, excessively violent, perverted, and truly horrible.
Yet, even with that, the film is cripplingly beautiful, one of the most beautiful ever created in my eyes. To pick…
