Watching this 8 years too late. When I finished watching this I thought I’d check in on Ed - I follow him on Twitter but never see his tweets - anyway he’s retweeted some breaking news in the States that recently declassified documents have revealed that the CIA has been “ secretly conducting massive surveillance programs that capture Americans’ private information” - that was shared 11 hours ago.

The Secret World of Arrietty 2010
If you compare this film to the rest of the Ghibli repertoire, it will naturally feel like it falls a little short of something that is actually great. But I watched this without thinking of its cousins and I really, really enjoyed it. There are some parts, particularly towards the end of the film, that are pretty cheesy.
