Letterboxd — Your life in film

This is the exact sort of movie people are talking about when they say “they don’t make normal action movies anymore!!!” but it’s just not very good.

What I like about this movie is that it’s awful.

An immaculate time capsule of things now ruined by the internet.

Pacino defo sold his soul for this performance.

Insane to the point of admirable that anyone involved thought this was a good story

A perfect paean/piss-on to the concept of subculture.

This is the most pro god movie of all time.

A fartfelt movie

This movie has no idea if it wants to be smart or dumb.

Schrader gets way out of his depth in the action climax (though watching Scott repeatedly careen through the walls of an S&M outpost is funny) but the final, crushing dialogue between the father and daughter more than make up for it.

Of all the incredible things in this movie, Matt Dillon wearing tourist Tevas the whole time is right at the top.
