As a family film with some light philosophizing on free will and an altruistic message, this is pretty great. As a PG-13 comedy, this feels confused and unbalanced. Seems too limited in scope, too. I guess that's part of the point, but if you were given the power of God and elect to be dickish superhero as a result why would you only use it to become anchor on a local television news channel? C'mon, man, take those powers for a real spin!
Also, with some prominent exceptions, I still find Jim Carrey to be pretty hilarious. Sorry.
