Jacob Knight’s review published on Letterboxd:
Feels important as maybe being the first Tarantino riff that doesn't involve skinny tie hitmen, the Valley or jive talking hustlers. Instead, this revisionist Western combines enough off-beat genre elements and rhythmic dialogue (that never becomes too overt or ever self-referential) to feel like one of QT's best postmodern riffs -- completely it's own thing while letting the influences peek out from beneath a sly formally sound veneer. RIDE THE HIGH COUNTRY with cannibals. Really special.
