Jacob Knight’s review published on Letterboxd:
Some wonky pacing issues aside, this is one hell of an unpleasant horror film, filled with loads of graphic, haunting imagery, and building to a climax that is sadistic and just plain nasty. This almost doesn’t feel American, as its violence and horrors are truly grotesque in a way many US genre pictures are afraid to be. Collette is incredible, but Byrne is the secret MVP here, the constantly doting husband who always feels like he’s three seconds away from tossing in the towel (but never does). Need to see it again to be sure, but right now I like it, don’t love it.
