what’s astounding is how effortless the film is at juggling the text and subtext. the work floats along with such understanding of these moments that it can play particular dynamics or events, as fucked up as they are, without ever sacrificing that established, warm ebb and flow. this all comes to play because of how “settled” Paul is with his voice as a filmmaker… although is a filmmaker ever really? our past is a blur from the sprints we submit…
