Fucking glorious, truly. I still think the way they wrote around the real life basketball games that took place and worked them into the plot is so so smart. L’amour Toujours over the end credits is just the perfect little cherry on the top to this thing.

  • Bo Burnham: Inside

    Bo Burnham: Inside

Bo is really such a fantastic musician, the songs he crafts are genuinely fantastic and I really love his singing voice.

This thing is so fucking sad.

  • Bo Burnham: Inside

    Bo Burnham: Inside

    ★★★★½

Brilliant. Bo once again proves that he’s one of the best and most interesting artists alive. Not quite as funny (outside of a few moments) as some of his past stuff, but I still love the way he experiments with the form, and this is a truly inventive and raw look into his mind. I’ve always connected so deeply with the way Bo writes about mental illness and this has some painfully recognizable moments to me. Inspiring.

  • Midsommar

    Midsommar

    ★★★★½

Ari Aster is easily one of the most exciting and talented filmmakers to come out in recent years, his gift at blocking and staging scenes and just precisely executing his vision is pretty much unparalleled amongst his peers.

  • The Master

    The Master

    ★★★★½

So damn good. Every time I watch it I just want to get to work on a screenplay. It’s ridiculous that Joaquin won the oscar for Joker and not this. Him, Hoffman and Amy Adams should’ve swept.

Reeeeaaaaaaallllllllyyyyyyyy liked this. Think I’ll watch it many times in my life, in fact I could watch it again rn. Rachel Sennott is very good in it, and Fred Melamed is a always a goddamn treasure.

  • Zack Snyder's Justice League

    Zack Snyder's Justice League

    ★★★★½

    Justice Is Gray edition

Just like pretty much every other blockbuster that was originally shot to be in color, the black and white look just does not work for this, even if a couple shots here and there are gorgeous with it. Movie still rips though.

  • Star Wars

    Star Wars

    ★★★★½

Cinematic gold. So pure and yet so rough around the edges, but in the most endearing way. At the end of the day Star Wars is an expensive b-movie that thanks to George Lucas’ world building and sincere care for these characters is easy to get swept up in, and thanks to Marcia Lucas’ reworking in the editing room is perfectly structured, perfectly paced, and just fuckin works through and through. And thank you Harrison Ford for being so goddamn fun to watch.

  • Come and See

    Come and See

    ★★★★½

Probably the most devastating movie I’ve ever seen. One of the best endings ever as well. Aleksey Kravchenko gives an all time great perfect. oof

  • Zack Snyder's Justice League

    Zack Snyder's Justice League

Snyder’s best and most consistent piece of work in the DCEU, this movie is a goddamn triumph lmao now let Zack make whatever he wants @ WB
