When dude gets shot in the head I audibly said “oh, shit!” Haven’t done that while watching a film in a long time.

De Niro is 🔥☄️🚒🧯 in this and it’s probably his most underrated performances.

How is this movie not talked about more? It’s incredible.

  • The Northman

I liked the fairly simple, comprehensible story and truly incredible cinematography. I also liked the dude in the cave who was humping air with Defoe’s head by his side… that was a vibe.

Fincher had to have seen this… and to still make Mank is some shameful shit.

Depp very good! Burton, dare I say, subdued is my favorite Burton.

For a low budget film this was really incredible. Simple plot with not so subtle undertones, executed very well. Great choice in a leading lady. The trumpet at the party is truly incredible— it ramps you up for the ending, truly gives you the vibe of that era, is undeniable infectious and I’m a huge sucker for diegetic sound also being the soundtrack.

  • The Worst Person in the World

The Worst Person in the World

A very sympathetic film that lends itself to feeling highly relatable— so relatable, even if not directly, that it rattles the viewer’s core in a good way. Our lead was great, as many have said, but Anders Danielsen Lie was the one who really seemed to take this movie to the next level. Highly recommendable film and Joachim Trier certainly knows how to tell a profound story.

Side note: I’ve been saying for YEARS to never take mushrooms with women…

  • Five Easy Pieces

    Five Easy Pieces

The arc of Bobby is really incredible. I’m guessing the Five Easy Pieces are the five stages of the film and, in turn, Bobby? The way Elton and Bobby talk to each other is both hilarious and odd— much like how Bobby carries his money all crumpled up in his pocket. Lastly, I feel like Tarantino saw the diner scene and said, “yeah, I like that, but it needs to add a gun and more screaming” and when Bobby wears the skinny tie and black suit Tarantino said, “yeah, I like that, but it needs to add a gun and more screaming.”

  • Chernobyl

Old Russian proverb: you buy cheap, you buy twice… or was it measure twice, cut once? I can never remember. Anyways, the only nudity was some sweaty two inchers.
